Counselling & NDIS Psycho Support Recovery
We offer individual cognitive counselling, a dynamic therapy that looks at life as a whole. It aims to support clients to solve their problems overall, not merely relative to one field or issue. The counselling is an interactive process between the counsellor and the client in which solutions emerge as a joint venture between the counsellor and client. The key concept used is cognitive behavioural therapy, CBT targets thoughts through the cognitive processes. It identifies behaviours and emotional responses to the cognitive process outcome. CBT encourages you to break the cycle of negative thoughts by learning to observe and challenge the thought processes, in order to recognise that many thoughts have no foundation in reality.

It is important that we challenge negative thoughts and how to shift towards a more positive and helpful way of thinking. This also enables you to actively change the way you think about the situation or the way you behave. This leads you to being able to change your emotional responses. Negative behaviours are targeted and this encourages you to practice new behaviours that are positive, then we can help you develop new productive and achievable goals. It’s important to recognise that face-to-face counselling still offers significant advantages . First and foremost, in-person counselling allows for a deeper level of connection and understanding between the therapist and the client.
